What Comes with IntelliQuilter?

IntelliQuilter comes with everything specific to installation on your Nolting machine model.  IntelliQuilter works on all Nolting machines.  The Nolting Elara and Diamond are automation ready for easier installation with internal automation wiring and ports for motor and cable connections, switch cable, and tablet connections.

Hardware

Hardware includes the motors, cables, mounting brackets, and thread break sensor.

Tablet

Dedicated Linux OS (Windows style) 12" tablet and docking station.  No internet access.

Software

Tablet comes preloaded with the IntelliQuilter software.  System comes with an IntelliQuilter USB with files and folders for transferring patterns from the internet to the tablet.

Custom Quilting

IntelliQuilter has features to customize blocks, spaces and pantographs.  Besides standard editing features, there is no-sew zone, line pattern P2P, echo, path pattern, fan pattern, and other customizing editing tools.  Check iQ model chart for details.

Compare Your Automation Options

Quiltmagine and IntelliQuilter both quilt pantographs and blocks, and offer customization features.  both systems stitch blocks, pantos, and custom designs, along with other features.  There are, however, differences in how the system moves along with differences in methods of placement and design features.  

Quiltmagine has two working screens.  One screen includes all of the placement, design, and editing features, and the other screen includes all of the functions related to stitching the pattern.  The Gold features utilize screens that pop-up when using that feature. 

IntelliQuilter uses a series of many screens starting with placing the block, designing, editing, and placing a pattern, and sewing the pattern, plus additional screens for other design and editing features.

Who delivers and installs iQ?

It depends.  Delivery and installation may depend on whether the system is purchased through a Nolting dealer, or directly from Nolting. Regardless of who delivers IntelliQuilter, the carriage and machine may need to be sent to Nolting for the iQ installation.  When considering iQ, clarify with your dealer or Nolting about delivery and installation  

Can I buy the BasiQ model and upgrade later?

Yes, it is always possible to purchase the BasiQ or BasiQ+ and move up to the ClassiQ model by paying the difference between the models.  The tablet would be returned to IntelliQuilter to install the system upgrade.  No other changes or alterations are needed.

Who will train me?

This depends.  If your dealer has iQ or is familiar with iQ, she/he can train.  Systems purchased from Nolting may require travel to Nolting for in person training.  Virtual training is also available from Nolting's Automation Educator.  When purchasing, ask about training that is included with the purchase and what training is additional.

Is there a thread break?

Yes.  IntelliQuilter has a thread break sensor that comes with the system.  It is mounted on the top of the arm and becomes part of the top thread path.  It will shut both the machine and iQ off when thread stops turning the sensor wheel, which might be caused by either a thread break or empty bobbin.

Is free motion hand guided possible? 

It is easy to move from automation to hand guided by simply tapping on the "Manual" button.  Manual lifts the drive wheels allowing the machine and carriage to move freely without drag.
